Seat Recliner - Outboard, Second Row, 60 Percent
Removal and Installation
WARNING: Use care when the seat back frame is removed and when releasing the recliners from a backrest upright position. The recliners are spring-loaded, which may cause the recliner upper arms to fold with significant speed/force. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row Seat - Exploded View, Second Row.
1. Detach the backrest cover lower J-clip.
2. Detach the 2 backrest cover inside J-clips attached to the hard back panel.
3. Roll the backrest cover up and remove the 2 outboard recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
4. Remove the clip and the manual recliner handle.
5. Pull to detach the retainers and remove the outboard recliner outer cover.
- On assembly, make sure the release strap is through the cover opening.
6. From under the seat, release the cushion cover J-clip.
7. NOTE: Typical cushion cover retainer shown, others similar.
Detach the cushion cover retainers and pull them out from between the riser and cushion frame.
8. NOTE: Note cable routing for installation.
Remove the outboard recliner.
1. Remove the 3 recliner cover screws.
2. Detach the outboard cable from the outboard recliner.
3. Remove the outboard recliner-to-cushion frame bolts.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
4. Detach the inboard cable from the outboard recliner. Remove the outboard recliner.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
