Removal and Installation

1. Remove the front bumper cover. For additional information, refer to Bumper Cover- Front Service and Repair.

2. NOTE: There is one spot weld on each end of the front bumper. These spot welds must be drilled out to remove the bumper.

NOTE: Corrosion protection needs to be restored whenever it is necessary to drill or grind through painted surfaces or E-coat, or when bare metal repairs are made. For additional information on restoring corrosion protection following repair, refer to Corrosion Protection.
Drill out the spot weld on each end of the bumper.






3. Remove and discard the bumper bolts.
- To install, tighten new bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).


4. Remove the front bumper.

5. NOTE: The spot welds retaining the front bumper to the body rails are not required for installation.

NOTE: Install new front bumper bolts.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
