Seat Backrest Cover - Second Row, 60 Percent
Removal and Installation
NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Second Row Seat - Exploded View, Second Row.
1. Remove the 60 percent seat. For additional information, refer to Seat- Second Row .
2. From under the seat, detach the 2 sets of cushion cover J-clips.
3. NOTE: Typical cushion cover retainer shown, others similar.
Detach the cushion cover retainers and pull them out from between the riser and cushion frame.
4. Detach the cushion cover J-clip from the cushion frame.
5. NOTE: To pivot the backrest, the inboard latch foot must be in the latched position.
Lift the cushion foam pad and cover up. Remove the safety belt anchor-to-inboard recliner bolt and position the safety belt anchor out from behind the recliner.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
6. Remove all of the head restraint guide sleeves. For additional information, refer to Head Restraint Guide Sleeve .
7. Remove the 2 screws and the safety belt guide cover.
8. Detach the 2 backrest cover retainers at the bottom and 1 at the inboard side.
9. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers, detach 2 retainers attached to the hardback panel and separate the hook-and-loop strips.
10. If equipped, remove the armrest. For additional information, refer to Seat Armrest Seat Armrest.
11. If equipped with an armrest, detach the backrest cover J-clips and remove the pin-type retainer in the armrest pocket.
12. NOTICE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strip or the hook-and-loop strip may be torn from the backrest foam pad.
Turn the backrest cover inside out, separate the hook-and-loop strips and remove the hog rings.
13. Turn the backrest cover inside out to the top of the backrest, feed the safety belt through and remove the backrest cover.
14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Before installation, make sure the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
- Verify the safety belt retractor operates without excessive effort or binding.
- Make sure the lower anchor and tether for children wires at the rear of the cushion frame are positioned through the cushion trim cover and are accessible to the occupants.
