REDUCED DRIVING RANGE, INTERMITTENT NO START OR NO HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY CHARGING

ISSUE
Some 2012 Focus Electric vehicles may exhibit a reduced driving range without setting a battery energy control module (BECM) diagnostic trouble code (DTC) or an intermittent no start or a no charge condition with one of the following BECM DTCs in continuous memory: P0A7D, P0ADF, P0D08, P1A21, P1A25, U3000:44, U3000:45 or U3000:46.

ACTION
Reprogram the BECM, powertrain control module (PCM) and anti-lock brake system (ABS) module to the latest calibration using IDS release 80.02 and higher. This new calibration is not included in the VCM 2012.7 DVD. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website.

WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
