Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM)

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module). REFER to Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM).

2. Position aside the weather-strip and remove the LH (Left Hand) instrument panel trim panel.





3. Remove the steering column trim panel screw, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the steering column cover trim panel.





4. Remove the LH (Left Hand) floor console side trim panel retainer and remove the LH (Left Hand) floor console side trim panel.





5. Position aside the selector lever bezel, disconnect the electrical connector.





6. Remove the selector lever trim panel screws and position aside the selector lever trim panel.
- 1 Nm (9 lb-in)





7. Position aside the parking brake bezel, remove the retainer and remove the parking brake trim panel.
- 1 Nm (9 lb-in)





8. Remove the 3 lower finish panel screws, disconnect the 2 HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) electrical connectors remove the lower finish panel. Remove the 4 HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) module screws and remove the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) module.





9. Remove the 3 screws and disconnect the 2 electrical connectors. Remove the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module).
- 2.6 Nm (23 lb-in)





Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

2. If installing a new APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), program the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module).
