Principles of Operation

The telematics module uses the modem-antenna to exchange data with a remote computer. The telematics module monitors other vehicle modules on the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) to gather vehicle data such as throttle position, idle time, and braking data. It does not communicate with a scan tool.
