Principles of Operation

The PCM monitors the transaxle range input from the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor. When the PCM detects the transaxle is in REVERSE (R), the PCM provides ground for the reversing lamps relay coil. When the relay is energized, voltage is supplied to the reversing lamps.
