Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Turn Signal and Hazard Lamps

Principles of Operation

The Generic Electronic Module (GEM) monitors the multifunction switch position by sending voltage signals to the multifunction switch and the hazard flasher lamp switch. When the multifunction switch is in the LH or RH TURN position, or the hazard flasher lamp switch is pressed, that input signal is routed to ground to indicate a request for the turn lamps or the hazard flasher lamps.

When the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) receives a request for a turn signal or hazard lamps, the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) supplies on/off voltage to the appropriate turn lamps.
