Pinpoint Test A: Inner Edge/Shoulder Wear

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Excessive toe out

- Incorrect wheel and tire rotation

PINPOINT TEST A : INNER EDGE/SHOULDER WEAR

A1 MEASURE THE TREAD DEPTH

- Using a tread depth gauge or similar tool, measure the inside edge/shoulder tread depth.

Is the tread depth greater than 2/32 inch?

Yes
ROTATE the wheel and tire assemblies.

CHECK and ADJUST the toe to nominal +0.15 degrees (toe in). CHECK and ADJUST caster and camber to nominal. REFER to Suspension &/or Alignment.

INSTALL a new tire(s). CHECK and ADJUST the toe to nominal. CHECK and ADJUST caster and camber to nominal. REFER to Suspension &/or Alignment.
