Power Steering Pump
Removal and Installation
NOTICE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may occur.
NOTICE: Do not allow power steering fluid to contact the accessory drive belt or damage to the belt may occur.
1. With a suitable suction device, remove the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Remove the 2 bolts and the accessory drive belt splash shield.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
4. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and position the accessory drive belt away from the power steering pump pulley.
5. Remove the pressure line-to-power steering pump clamp plate bolt and disconnect the pressure line from the power steering pump.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
6. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering pump supply hose from the power steering pump.
7. Remove the 4 bolts and the power steering pump.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
9. Fill the power steering system.
