2010-2012 Transit Connect

The article supersedes TSB 11-11-19 to update the Service Procedure.

ISSUE
Some 2010-2012 Transit Connect vehicles built on or before 11/12/2011 may exhibit lack of power, runs rough, rough idle and/or hesitation on acceleration. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 and/or P0316 may be present.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Check for evidence of water on top of the cam cover or a leak from the washer jet gasket.





2. Remove both washer jet nozzles from the hood and replace the gasket with 3 gaskets - stacked on top of each other. (Figure 1)

a. Due to vehicle variation, you may only be able to fit 1 or 2 gaskets. This is acceptable.

3. Reinstall the washer jet nozzles into the hood.
