Compressor Replacement

G SERIES

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge system refrigerant.
2. Disconnect harness lead to clutch coil.
3. Release drive belt tension at idler pulley, then remove drive belt from compressor pulley (remove crankshaft pulley if needed).
4. Remove engine cover retaining bolts and clamps and engine cover.
5. Remove engine air cleaner assembly.
6. Remove muffler and fitting assembly. Plug all open connections.
7. Remove compressor mounting bolts, then disconnect engine oil tube support bolt.
8. Disconnect compressor clutch ground lead, then remove compressor.
9. Reverse procedure to install, using new O-rings coated with clean 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. Compressor should be filled to specification with fresh refrigerant oil prior to installation.
