Intake Manifold Disassemble

UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD





1. Remove the ignition coil bolt and stud.
2. Remove the ignition coil.





3. Remove the throttle body nuts.





4. Remove the throttle body.





5. Remove the throttle body gasket.
6. Remove the throttle body studs, if required.





7. Remove the EGR valve bolts.

IMPORTANT: Note the position of the EGR valve before removal. It is possible to improperly install the EGR valve 180 degrees from the original position.

8. Remove the EGR valve.

NOTICE: The Linear EGR valve is an electrical component. DO NOT soak in any liquid cleaner or solvent because damage may result.

9. Remove the EGR gasket.





10. Remove the EVAP purge valve bolts.
11. Remove the EVAP purge valve.





12. Remove the secondary air injection check valve bracket bolt and bracket, if required (RPO K19 only).

LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD





1. Remove the MAP sensor nut, retainer and the MAP sensor.





2. Remove the fuel rail bolts and stud.





3. Remove the fuel rail.





4. Remove the water inlet housing bolts, housing, and thermostat.
5. Remove the coolant temperature sensor from the lower intake manifold.
