External Components Assemble

1. Apply RTV sealer GM P/N 12345739 or equivalent to the new bearing retainer sealing surfaces.
2. Install the rear bearing retainer bolts to the rear case.
- Tighten the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

3. Connect the four-wheel drive indicator switch to the front case half.
- Tighten the switch to 20 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the speed sensor and the bolt to the rear bearing retainer.
- Tighten the bolts to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).

5. Install the following components to the rear output shaft:
- The rear output yoke
- The rubber sealing washer
- The flat washer
- The rear output yoke nut
- Tighten the nut to 170 Nm (125 ft. lbs.).

6. Install the following components to the front output shaft:
- The front output yoke
- The rubber sealing washer
- The flat washer
- The front output yoke nut
- Tighten the nut to 224 Nm (165 ft. lbs.).
