Washer Operation

When the Rear Window Wiper/Washer Switch is pressed, voltage is supplied to the Solid-State Control Board in the Rear Window Wiper/Washer Module. The Rear Window Wiper/Washer Switch supplies battery voltage to the Rear Window Washer Pump Motor through DK GRN (392). The switch also starts the wiper cycle through the LO speed brushes of the Rear Window Wiper/Washer Motor. The washer continues to run as long as the switch is held down. The Solid-State Control Board keeps the wipers on for approximately 6 seconds after the washer goes off. If the washer is switched on during PULSE operation, the wipers run in low speed for 6 seconds. When the wash cycle is completed the Wipers return to the PULSE operation.

The Rear Window Washer Pump Motor is equipped with a circuit breaker which protects the motor when the wipers are blocked. The resulting high current will open the circuit breaker which will reset upon cooling.
