Washer (Pulse Wiper) Circuit
Depressing the washer switch supplies the voltage to the solid state logic board. The control board supplies the battery voltage to the front windshield washer pump motor through CKT 94 (PNK). The control board starts the wiper cycle through the low speed brushes of the wiper motor. The washer continues to run as long as the switch is held down. The solid state logic board keeps the wipers on for approximately 6 seconds after the washer goes OFF. If the washer switches on during the DELAY operation, the wipers run in the low speed for 6 seconds. The wash cycle completes before the wipers return to the delay pulse operation.A circuit breaker is a part of the wiper motor. The circuit breaker protects the motor when there is a blockage at the wipers. The resulting high current will open the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker will reset upon cooling.
