Transmission Front Case Disassemble

^ Tools Required
- J 44707 T Bar Push Puller
- J 44728 Bearing Racer Remover
- J 44733 Bearing Racer Remover
- J 44736 Bridge and Forcing Screw
- J 44737 Shift Rail Bearing Remover

Notice: The case sealing surface is a machine surface. Prevent the case sealing surface from getting nicks, scratches or other damage. Damage to the case sealing surface may cause leakage.

Important: Only remove the bearings if replacing the bearings. Do not reuse the bearings after removal.





1. Inspect the bearings for damage or wear.
2. Remove the shift rail bearing using the J 44707 (1) and the J 44737 (2).
2.1. Expand the J 44737 (2) to fit securely in the bearing.
2.2. Install the J 44707 (1) to the J 44737 (2).
2.3. Rest the bar of the J 44707 (1) on the case. Do not let the bar of the J 44707 damage the case.
2.4. Remove the shift rail bearing.





3. Remove the countershaft front bearing race using the J 44736 (1) and the J 44738 (2).
3.1. Install the J 44738 (2) in order for the fingers to fit in the notches in the case.
3.2. Expand the J 44738 (2) to fit securely in the bearing race.
3.3. Align the legs of the J 44736 to rest on the webbing of the case.
3.4. Remove the countershaft front bearing race.





4. Remove the countershaft bearing shims and discard.





5. Remove the main shaft front bearing race using the J 44736 (1) and the J 44733 (2).
5.1. With the J 44736 (1) attached to the J 44733 (2) hit down on the forcing screw to bend the input gear oil deflector. This is to allow the J 44733 (2) to fit under the bearing race.
5.2. Expand the J 44733 (2) to fit securely under the bearing race.
5.3. Align the legs of the J 44736 to rest on the webbing of the case.
5.4. Remove the input shaft bearing race.





6. Remove the input gear oil deflector and discard.
7. Remove the input shaft bearing shims and discard.





8. Remove the oil trough.





9. Remove the input shaft seal and discard.





10. Remove the transmission vent, if necessary.





11. Remove the Power Take Off (PTO) cover bolts.
12. Remove the PTO cover.
13. Remove and discard the PTO cover gasket.
