A/T - 2004R & 700R4 Pump Break Up

TSB: 86-10 (Feb)

SUBJECT: PUMPS 200 4R & 700R4

Note
Parts of the following are contained in previous bulletins, but are mentioned again, for clarification, and for additions.

TWO COPIES OF THIS BULLETIN ARE BEING ISSUED so that one can be put into each transmission section.

BULLETIN TSB 85-115 should be retitled to "200 4R", since this information rarely applies to 700 R4, but is COMMON with the 200 4R (mainly 1981).

Figures 1 & 2 are additional revision information that will help to slow pump pressure regulator "busyness", and therefore pump slide "shuffle". which is a major cause of pump "break-up".

When interchanging pumps on 200 4R and 700R4, be sure to keep both boost bushings and valves and spring with the unit being rebuilt.

The valves must be turned exactly as shown.

Wrong "line-up" of parts, or wrong order (direction) can cause a troubleshooting "nightmare", when the unit "comes back" -- providing it ever leaves.
