Computers and Control Systems: Service Precautions

Before servicing electronic components, always turn ignition "OFF" first and then disconnect the battery ground.

NOTE: Access and record any trouble codes before removing battery ground. Control Module memory will be erased if ground cable is removed.

Fuel and Engine Control System wiring should be at least 4 inches away from ignition wires.
