Preliminary Inspection

Before making any adjustments to the caster, camber or toe angles, verify the following inspections:
Inspect
1. The tires for the proper inflation pressures and normal tire wear.
2. The front wheel bearings for the proper adjustment.
3. The ball joints, tie rod ends. If worn or loose, correct before adjusting.
4. The wheels and tires for runout.
5. The vehicles trim height. Refer to "Alignment Specifications." If specifications are not met.
6. The steering gear for looseness at the frame.
7. The shock absorbers for leaks or any noticeable noise.
8. The control arms or stabilizer bar attachments for looseness.
9. The alignment equipment. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
10. The level of the vehicle. The vehicle must be on a level surface for and aft and side to side.
11. Excessive drag or poor return of the steering wheel due to the stiff or rusted suspension or linkage components.
