Charging System: Service and Repair

Generator Replacement:




REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Air cleaner.
3. Drive belt.
4. Electrical connector from the regulator.
5. Front mounting bolts.
6. Rear mounting bolt.
7. Nut at the BAT terminal.
8. Generator from the vehicle.

Generator Replacement:




INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Generator to the vehicle.
2. Nut at the BAT terminal.
3. Rear mounting bolt.
4. Front mounting bolts.
Tighten
^ Nut at the BAT terminal to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
^ Front Mounting Bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
^ Rear Mounting Bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
5. Electrical connector to the regulator.
6. Drive belt.
7. Air cleaner.
8. Negative battery cable.
