Power Window Motor

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the power window regulator.

Caution: The sector gear must be locked in place once the regulator is removed from the door. The regulator lift arm is under tension from the counterbalance spring and can cause personal injury if the motor is removed without locking the sector gear in position.

2. Remove the self-tapping, pan head sheet metal screw through the sector gear and the backing plate at the hole provided. This will lock the sector gear out of position.
3. Drill out the motor to regulator attaching rivets (2) in order to install the motor from the regulator.
4. Remove the motor from the regulator (3).
^ Tip the top edge of the window toward the front of the vehicle.
^ Tip the window in toward the inside of the vehicle.
5. Remove the window from the door frame (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the window to the door frame (1).
2. Install the motor to the regulator (3).
3. Install the window regulator to the lower run channel.
4. Install the water deflector.
5. Install the trim panel.
