A/T Shift Lock Control Actuator
Removal Procedure1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
2. Remove the lower steering column shroud. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement On Vehicle.Steering Column Trim Covers
3. Remove the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator from the steering column.
4. Use a small screwdriver to pry the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator from the steering column jacket assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator onto the steering column jacket assembly. Put the steering column in the NEUTRAL position.
2. Adjust the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
2.1. Pull out the tab (1) on the adjuster block side (2) of the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
2.2. Press on the adjuster block (2) to disengage the adjuster teeth. Slide the adjuster block (2) as far away from the actuator as possible.
2.3. Lock the adjuster block in place by pushing inward on the tab (1).
3. Inspect the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator.
3.1. The electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator must lock the shift lever clevis when the shift lever clevis is put into the PARK position.
3.2. Turn the ignition to the ON position and depress the brake pedal in order to move the gear shift lever out of the PARK position. The actuator will be energized.
3.3. Readjust the electrical automatic transmission shift lock control actuator if needed.
3.4. Install the lower steering column shroud. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement- On Vehicle.Steering Column Trim Covers
3.5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
