Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

5. Install six studs and one bolt securing the transmission to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the studs and the bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).

6. Install the stud and bolt securing the transmission to the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the stud and the bolt to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).

7. Install the flywheel to torque converter bolts. Refer to Torque Converter Bolt Replacement Service and Repair.

8. Install the torque converter access plug.

9. Install the transmission vent hose, fuel lines, and the wiring harness to the transmission.

10. Install the two bolts securing the heat shield to the transmission.

Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset. Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

22. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Adapt Function Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
23. Lower the vehicle.
