65. Valve Lifter Clean and Inspect

Valve Lifters Cleaning and Inspection





1. Push the roller towards the roller lifter body and measure the distance between the bottom of the roller and the roller lifter body. The production value is 0.989 - 1.0 mm (0.0389 - 0.0394 inch) and the service limit is 0.9 mm (0.0354 inch).
2. Replace the valve lifter if the measurement exceeds the service limit.
3. Inspect the valve lifters for the following:
- The valve lifter body for scuffing and wear
- The valve lifter roller assembly for wear
- The valve lifter roller for smooth rotation
