Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the engine cover.




2. Remove the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector.




3. Remove the TP sensor attaching fasteners.




4. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body assembly.

NOTE: The TP sensor is an electrical component. Do not soak the TP sensor in any liquid cleaner or solvent as damage may result.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. With the throttle valve closed, install the TP sensor on the throttle shaft. Rotate the TP sensor counterclockwise in order to align the mounting holes.




2. Install the TP sensor attaching fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Install the TP sensor harness connector.
4. Install the engine cover.
