Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) electrical connector (1).





3. Remove the VSS and O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure





1. Coat a NEW O-ring seal with a thin film of Synchro-mesh transmission fluid GM P/N 12345349 (Canadian P/N 10953465 or equivalent.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the VSS and O-ring seal.
^ Tighten the VSS to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the VSS electrical connector (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.
