Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Replacement-Intake



CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT-INTAKE

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor.




2. Remove the intake CMP sensor retaining bolt.
3. Remove the intake CMP sensor from the cylinder head.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lightly lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.




2. Install the intake CMP sensor into the cylinder head.
3. Add sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the CMP sensor bolt threads.
4. Install the intake CMP sensor bolt.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the CMP sensor bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the intake CMP sensor.
