Front Side Door Lock Replacement

FRONT SIDE DOOR LOCK REPLACEMENT

Power (AU3) door lock shown, manual (without AU3) door lock similar.

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the front door trim panel.
2. Remove the front door water deflector.
3. Remove the front inside door handle.
4. Remove the front door window run channel.
5. Disconnect the lock cable retainer (1) and remove the lock cables (2) from the retainer.




6. Disconnect the outside door handle rod by releasing the retaining clip (2).
7. Disconnect the lock cylinder rod by releasing the retaining clip (1).




8. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the door lock assembly to the inner panel, if equipped with AU3.
9. Remove the screws retaining the door lock assembly to the door.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the front door lock assembly, if equipped with AU3.
11. Remove the door lock assembly from the door.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the door lock assembly to the door.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the front door lock assembly, if equipped with AU3.

3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Install the screws retaining the door lock assembly to the door.

Tighten the door lock screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

4. Install the bolt (1) retaining the door lock assembly to the inner panel, if equipped with AU3.

Tighten the door lock bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).




5. Connect the lock cylinder rod to the lock cylinder using the retaining clip (1).
6. Connect the outside door handle rod to the door handle using the retaining clip (2).




7. Install the lock cables (2) into the lock cable retainer (1) and connect the retainer.
8. Install the front door window run channel.
9. Install the front inside door handle.
10. Install the front door water deflector.
11. Install the front door trim panel.
