Tailgate Lock Cylinder: Service and Repair

ENDGATE LOCK CYLINDER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the endgate cover.
2. Disconnect the clip (1) retaining the lock rod to the lock cylinder.
3. Remove the lock rod from the retaining clip (1).
4. Remove the bolt retaining the lock cylinder to the endgate handle.
5. Remove the lock cylinder from the endgate handle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Code the new lock cylinder. Refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding.
2. Install the lock cylinder to the endgate handle.

3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice.

Install the bolt retaining the lock cylinder to the endgate handle.

Tighten the lock cylinder bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Install the lock rod to the retaining clip (1).
5. Connect the clip (1) retaining the lock rod to the lock cylinder.
6. Install the endgate cover.
