Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Disconnect the chassis evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe (3) quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.




3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.




4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting from the upper intake manifold.
5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt.
6. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (w/bracket) and EVAP canister purge tube.




7. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.




2. Position the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket to the upper intake manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Connect the EVAP canister purge tube quick connect fitting to the upper intake manifold.




5. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.




6. Connect the chassis EVAP pipe (3) quick connect fitting to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
7. Install the fuel injector sight shield.
