Timing Chain Guide Replacement - Upper

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the upper timing chain guide bolts.
3. Remove the upper timing chain guide from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the upper timing chain guide to the cylinder head.
2. Apply threadlock to the upper timing chain guide bolt threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (Specifications).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

3. Install the upper timing chain guide bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
