Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (GMC) Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (Chevrolet) .

2. Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement (GMC) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet HD) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (GMC HD) Radiator Grille Replacement.




3. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the auxiliary oil cooler (1). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.




4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

5. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .

6. Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the radiator (2). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

7. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipe clip nut (1) from the engine.

8. Remove the cooling lines from the transmission (3). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

9. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (1500 Series) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (2500/3500 Series) .

10. Remove the oil cooling lines (4) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the transmission oil cooler lines (4) to the vehicle.

2. Install the cooling lines to the transmission (3). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

3. Install the transmission fluid cooler pipe clip nut (1) to the engine.

4. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose to the radiator (2). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

5. Install the drivetrain and front suspension frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (1500 Series) Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (2500/3500 Series) .

6. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .

7. Lower the vehicle.




8. Install the transmission fluid cooler hose to the auxiliary oil cooler (1). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection Service and Repair.

9. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement (GMC) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet HD) Radiator Grille ReplacementRadiator Grille Replacement (GMC HD) Radiator Grille Replacement.

10. Install the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (GMC) Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (Chevrolet) .
