Installation

1. Apply suitable lubricant to backing plate and cylinder piston brake shoe contact points, adjuster and parking lever pin contact points.
2. Install parking brake lever to trailing shoe, then connect parking brake cable to lever.
3. Install trailing shoe to backing plate with hold-down pin and spring, then install brake adjuster.
4. Install leading shoe to backing plate with hold-down pin and spring.
5. Install auto adjuster lever and auto adjuster spring, then install return spring.
6. Install brake drum, then adjust brakes. Refer to individual car chapters for procedure.
7. Adjust bearing preload. Refer to individual car chapters for procedure.
8. If hydraulic connections have been opened, bleed system
