Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from A/C system.
3. Remove insulator from evaporator outlet and blower joint.
4. Remove thermo switch from upper case.
5. Remove clips retaining upper and lower evaporator case halves, then the upper case half.
6. Carefully pull thermo switch capillary tube from evaporator core.
7. Remove thermo switch.
8. Remove evaporator core with expansion valve, inlet and outlet lines connected.
9. Peel off insulation tape from expansion valve and equalizer line connection.
10. Disconnect expansion valve intake pipe connection, equalizer line and evaporator outlet line.
11. Remove evaporator core. Cap all open lines and fittings.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
