Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Position a suitable screwdriver between steering wheel shroud and steering wheel, then pry shroud free.
3. Remove screws attaching horn shroud to steering wheel from rear side of wheel.
4. Lift horn shroud slightly and disconnect horn electrical connector, then remove shroud.
5. Remove steering wheel to steering shaft attaching nut and washer.
6. Using tool No. J-1859-03 or other suitable puller, carefully remove steering wheel from shaft.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque steering wheel to steering shaft attaching nut to 22 ft. lbs.
