Removal/Installation Procedure

Remove or Disconnect

1. Run engine at idle with air conditioning ON for ten minutes.
2. Negative battery cable.
3. Radiator grille.
4. Discharge refrigerant slowly from refrigerant system.
5. Clutch coil lead wire from A/C wire harness.
6. A/C pipes (2) from condenser.
7. Suction and discharge flexible hoses from compressor service valves.

NOTICE Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and foreign material out of the system.

8. Loosen compressor drive belt then remove compressor mounting bolts.
9. Compressor with clutch assembly from compressor mounting brackets.

NOTICE When storing a compressor, fill it with refrigerant oil to prevent corrosion.

Install or Connect

1. Compressor with clutch assembly to compressor mounting brackets.
2. Compressor mounting bolts, then tighten compressor drive belt.
3. Suction and discharge flexible hoses to compressor service valves.
4. A/C pipes (2) to condenser.
5. Clutch coil lead wire to A/C wire harness.
6. Radiator grille.
7. Negative battery cable.
8. Evacuate and charge refrigerant system.
