Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Exhaust System:

REMOVAL:

CAUTION: To avoid being burned, DO NOT touch the exhaust system when the system is hot. Any service should be performed when the system is cool.

1. Remove exhaust manifold/catalytic converter flange bolts.

2. Remove exhaust pipe/catalytic converter flange bolts.

3. Remove catalytic converter bracket bolts.

4. Remove catalytic converter.

INSTALLATION:

1. Use new exhaust manifold flange gasket and seal ring.

2. Position catalytic converter assembly in place and install bracket bolts.

3. Install new seal ring and exhaust pipe/catalytic converter bolts.

4. Install gasket and exhaust manifold/catalytic converter flange bolts. Tighten bolts to specifications.
