Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Mechanical: Adjustments

NOTE: Before starting the engine, place the transmission gear shift lever in NEUTRAL (shift selector lever to PARK for vehicles with A/T), and set the parking brake and block drive wheels.

PROCEDURE:

Throttle Opener Adjustment:

1. START engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
2. Check to make sure that there is no electrical load applied to the engine.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle opener and plug.
4. Adjust the engine speed to specification by turning the throttle opener adjusting screw.
5. Upon completion of adjustment, reconnect the vacuum hose to the throttle opener securely.
