Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

Fuel Pressure Regulator Removal:

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
3. Disconnect the fuel return hose and vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.
4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator from the throttle body.

INSTALLATION:

1. Check O-ring for any damage or deterioration, and replace if necessary.
2. Apply a thin coat of spindle oil to the O-ring to facilitate installation.
3. Install the fuel pressure regulator into the throttle body.
4. Reconnect the fuel return hose and the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
5. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
6. START vehicle and check for fuel leaks.
