Fluorescent Leak Detectors

R-12 Refrigerant
To test for leaks with this method, add fluorescent leak detection additive J-36790 or equivalent to the refrigeration system following manufacturers instructions. Scan all accessible areas of refrigeration system with tester No. J-28428-D. The additive can remain in the refrigeration system as it is not harmful to system components.

R-134a Refrigerant
No fluorescent detection additive is currently approved by General Motors for use in R-134a systems.
