Vacuum Switch: Description and Operation

Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV):

Note:
Not all vehicles are equipped with a Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV).

Purpose:
The Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) is used to apply vacuum to various components in the PFI system.

Operation:
The Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) is an ECM controlled, electrically operated solenoid valve assembly.
The VSV is utilized in the following systems:
^ EGR System
^ ISC System
^ A/C System
^ Fuel Pressure Control
