Passenger Compartment Sensor


1. Deactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION.
2. Remove front console bracket.
3. Disconnect electrical connector clip and sensor connector.
4. Remove two mounting bolts securing sensor.
5. Remove sensor.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install sensor with arrow pointing towards front of vehicle.
b. Torque mounting bolts to 89 inch lbs.
c. Following installation, activate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION.
d. Turn ignition switch to the On position and verify the ``Inflatable Restraint'' indicator flashes 7 to 9 times then turns Off. If indicator does not respond, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING PROCEDURE/TESTING PROCEDURES/RETRIEVING TROUBLE CODES.
