Center Sensor Assembly

Do not open the center sensor assembly case for any reason. Touching the connector pins or soldered components may cause electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage. Repair of a faulty center sensor assembly is by replacement only.
1. Disarm airbag system as described under ``Airbag System Disarming.''
2. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove console from vehicle.
3. Remove three bolts and console mounting bracket from floor, then remove rear seat cushion.
4. Loosen rear floor carpet to gain access to center sensor assembly bolts.
5. Disconnect center sensor assembly connectors.
6. Remove three bolts and the center sensor assembly from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten to specifications.
b. Rearm airbag system as described under ``Airbag System Arming.''
