Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge and recover refrigerant as outlined under Air Conditioning Service and Repair.
3. Remove blower motor case as outlined under Blower Motor, Replace.
4. Disconnect A/C amplifier and evaporator thermistor electrical connectors.
5. Disconnect and cap evaporator case refrigerant inlet and outlet pipes.
6. Remove evaporator case drain hose.
7. Remove evaporator case two attaching bolts and one nut, then the case.
8. Depress A/C amplifier two lower locking tabs, then slide amplifier upward to remove.
9. Disengage evaporator case clips, to separate case halves.
10. Remove evaporator core from case.
11. Reverse procedure to install. Torque evaporator case bolts to 89 inch lbs., inlet pipe nut to 26 ft. lbs. and outlet pipe nut to 33 ft. lbs.
