Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation
Located at the side of air cleaner case, this sensor constantly measures the temperature of the air entering the manifold and converts a change in the air temperature, The sensor is a thermistor, that is, as air temperature lowers, resistance increases and as it rises, resistance decreases. As air temperature of the intake varies, the ECM, by monitoring the voltage drop, adjusts the amount of fuel injection according to the air temperature.
