EGR Backpressure Transducer: Testing and Inspection

EGR Pressure Transducer Filter:

1. Inspect filter for contamination and damage (clean filter, using compressed air.)

2. Remove vacuum hoses (3) from modulator.






3. Place finger over modulator tube and blow in opposite tube. Air should pass through filter part of modulator.






4. Connect vacuum pump to tube "P" and plug tube "Q" with your finger.

5. Blow air into tube "A." You should not be able to obtain vacuum on pump.

6. If EGR modulator fails this test, replace modulator.
