Clutch Switch: Service and Repair

Fig. 26 Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) Interrupt Switch Location.:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove two cover plates from knee bolster.
3. Disconnect hood release cable from hood release lever and bracket.
4. Remove four bolts and knee bolster from instrument panel.
5. Disconnect electrical connector from ABS data link connector (DLC), if equipped.
6. Remove one screw and left side ventilation from left side duct outlet.
7. Disconnect CPP interrupt switch electrical connector from CPP interrupt switch, Fig. 26, then loosen CPP interrupt switch locknut.
8. Remove CPP interrupt switch locknut and switch by turning counterclockwise.
9. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Torque CPP interrupt switch locknut and knee bolster bolts to 7.5 ft. lbs.
b. Torque battery ground cable to 11 ft. lbs.
