Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Data Link Connector: Description and Operation

Data Link Connector And Junction Block:

Duty Check DLC:

DIAGNOSTIC REQUEST TERMINAL
There are two diagnostic request terminals; one included in the junction block and the other in the Duty Check Data Link Connector (DLC). The junction block is located below the LH side of the instrument panel and the Duty Check DLC is located in the engine compartment by the LH strut tower. When either diagnostic request terminal is grounded, a diagnostic request signal is fed to the Engine Control Module (ECM), which then outputs a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) to the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), and at the same time outputs the Idle Speed Control (ISC) duty through the duty check terminal in the Duty Check DLC.
