Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

Air Cleaner (ACL) With Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor:

INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT

NOTICE: The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is part of the Air Cleaner (ACL). Care should be used when handling IAT sensor.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. One bolt, one nut, PCV hose, IAT sensor electrical connector and ACL from Throttle Body Fuel Injection (TBI) unit.
3. IAT sensor from ACL.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. IAT sensor to ACL. Tighten IAT sensor to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
2. PCV hose, IAT sensor electrical connector and ACL to TBI unit; secure with one bolt and nut. Tighten ACL bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
3. Negative (-) battery cable. Tighten Negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
